Clinical Development group at QUATRx Pharmaceuticals Company has
contracted SCLLC since 2007, and has been very happy with their
services. Most recently, SCLLC has been a key resource in the recovery
and efficient execution of two Phase III pivotal trials. In the first Phase III trial the monitoring services were outsourced to a full service CRO. The CRO suffered from frequent turnover, poorly managed staff, inadequate understanding of the protocol, and an inability to connect personally with the sites. The monitoring function was removed from the CRO and put into the hands in part to SCLLC. SCLLC managed to effectively gain a trusting relationship with the sites and provide quality re-monitoring services as well as ongoing monitoring. SCLLC continued through study completion to meet timelines and interact effectively with the study team and the sites; all while reducing costs. Having had much success with the first Phase III trial SCLLC was employed for the second Phase III pivotal study. The services were extended to include more staff and a leadership function to manage all monitors. SCLLC was essential in the process of pre-screening and initiating over 120 sites in 6 months time. Though this study has not yet completed and the contract not fully paid it is fully enrolled and last subject visit is due in the next two weeks. This allows us to estimate the final close out of the SCLLC contract costs and in doing so we anticipate a savings of ~$800,000 in monitoring fees compared to the first Phase III pivotal (identical study).
